Every human being deserves an equal opportunity to flourish. Receiving a 21st century education is only the beginning of someone reaching their full potential. Gaining exposure, having access, being active and acquiring new insights opens up a vast world of unlimited possibilities.
Engage.
It’s crucial that we provide on-going opportunities that help cultivate talent. Through B~STEM Project we offer a variety of programs that reach beyond traditional STEM and extends to wherever business and technology intersects. Our mantra is “STEM is Everywhere” and not limited to any particular industry or job sector.
Learn.
Unfortunately most educational institutions have not evolved academically and socially to meet the challenges and demands of today. Many students continue to be unprepared and uncertain about their path forward. We must cultivate talent for the 21st century workforce by providing an array of free learning opportunities.
Grow.
We need to meet students where they are and build curriculums around their interest and skillsets. We must abandon this one-size-fits-all approach to education while expecting every student to move at the same pace - it’s not realistic. Each of us are unique and have a different way in which we receive and process information.

It all begins with exploration. You simply don’t know what you don’t know. We’re loosing a lot of brilliant minds because they don’t have an opportunity to discover what excites them. They aren’t able to uncover their strengths. It’s amazing what happens when students lead.

Making an impact in the lives of emerging talent is thrilling. Yet, there is so much work to be done. The more we invest in our youth, as well as young girls and women particularly those of color living in underserved communities the better the planet will be.

The key difference between those who excel and those who remain stagnant is opportunity. If everyone has equal access and the ability to practice thus discovering and enhancing their skills, we would see a seismic shift in performance and productivity. This is why free future-facing programs are essential.

I’m a huge fan of Project Based Learning (PBL). It creates a real-world environment which cultivates key skills like; collaboration, decision making, communication, leadership, strategic planning and more. Seeing the end product based on one’s ideas is an invaluable process.
There’s nothing better than having options .
It might sound cliche but knowledge truly is power. If you know that you have options you’re better equipped to make a decision that’s best for you. When you lack skills and information it’s impossible to have a course of action. Although there are no guarantees in life, an informed decision is still better than the alternative. The choices we make shape every aspect of our lives. Yet, we expect someone to go at things unprepared and succeed. If we haven’t already given up, most of us spend our adult lives struggling to figure out what we’re good at and what excites us instead of doing it. This has to change.
