Quitting

Sometimes when we’ve worked so hard at something for a long time and things seem to remain still we question whether we should continue that thing or QUIT.  For most of us it’s those small victories in the journey that propels us forward with determination and avails us to that ray of hope. Yet if those victories become fewer and fewer we pull the QUIT notion from the subconscious of our mind and toil with it daily. For some of us it’s those encouraging words from another saying, “don’t QUIT” because you have a wonderful idea and they see great promise.  However, it is you that must suffer through the ups and downs of the journey. Then there are those who hate to loose so for them to QUIT is to fail.  However, this determination breeds a tunnel vision at times and causes one to be very hard on themselves which leads to a great deal of emotional, spiritual and physical turmoil.

Firstly, when we engage in something we must be certain that this is where you should be and that there is passion behind not only the ultimate achievement but more importantly the process.  You see many people QUIT because they made a decision based on an end result.  We must remember life is about the process, the journey to and not some ultimate moment or plateau.  To be a lawyer, doctor, teacher, artist, etc. is not about the appearance of the ultimate success it’s about everything in between the advocacy, the patients, the students, and the craft.

Many times it’s the end result that leads us into a thing and when we get there it is not what we had imagined or we cannot endure the laborious process so we QUIT.  This is because we were lead by a superficial purpose that has no valued process only results.  Even when the passion is on high we must continue to embrace the daily process and what it contributes in and of itself.  When you are in alignment and began to appreciate the process to QUIT is no longer a weight.  We must actually live life daily and abandon living for a extraordinary moment that deems life purposeful.  To be in a journey is to be in constant motion.  There is no ultimate place of utopia. It’s imperative to stop putting everything aside and embrace life as it is meant to be.   If we live everyday with purpose there is no failure only victory.
